2008 Huntington Beach Park Civil War Reenactment

The much looked forward to Huntington Beach reenactment is approaching fast. It is time to start loading your wagons.

With a great showing of units from all reenacting organizations, civilians, suttlers, Saturday evening dance, as well as other activities, do not be one to have missed out on an annual great event.

Those pre-registered get their names checked off the list when they arrive on site and are on their way. Those having to register at the registration table will have to fill out forms at the time of registration.

Please note that no one is allowed to enter the park before 3:00 pm Friday. This is a park requirement and pertains to everyone; reenactors, event staff, sutlers, etc. No one can get earlier access so do not bother to find alternative means of access. You will be asked to leave by the park and may cause unnecessary problems for future events. Please inform all in your command of this restriction to avoid unnecessary unpleasantness. Your cheerful cooperation is appreciated in advance.

The registration packet of information notes:

1. No parking in Huntington Beach Central Park-Violators will be towed. All vehicles must park in the Ocean View High School parking lot.

2.. Please do not drive on the grass when unloading vehicles and trailers.

4. Upon arrival, go to the pre registration table in the suttler area. You will be checked off the list and given your tickets for raffle.

5. Registration is $5.00 per reenactor / participant.

6. Parking permits will be issued to pre-registrants and will be available at the registration table.

9. ALL reenactors / participants must register to participate.

We are all looking forward to another outstanding Huntington Beach Reenactment.

2008 Huntington Beach Park Civil War Reenactment

Reenacting Community,

The Huntington Beach Historical Society is once again hosting one of the best events of the year and the event date is fast approaching; August 30-31.

As has been historically the case, we expect more reenactors, and more spectators at this year’s event.

While there are limited paid gun slots at the Huntington Beach event we never have a problem filling those slots, and always have full scale guns to spare.

Early commitments I have received regarding infantry suggest more troops will be on the field than last year. The last major event was Long Beach and the reenactors I have talked to are hungry for another large event. Huntington Beach is the one they are looking forward to.

This event is an invitational event, open to all reenactors from any organization, and those participating as independents. Everyone is welcome and your participation enables the Historical Society to continue hosting this quality event, with comfortable weather in the midst of a metropolitan area, yet, in a park setting.

Please mark your calendar, talk to those in your commands, or your pard’s in the ranks about attending. We have always had a great time at this event.

Additional information, maps, weather, updates can be found on the www.hartsengineers.com website. Go the Event Schedule, Central Park. I need to update a couple of things for the HB event and will get that current within the next week. Check that website from time to time for update information.

Registration packets have been mailed to past participants. Registration forms will also be available on the website www.hartsengineers.com. I have also attached those files to this message for those that may not have received them.

Please forward this message to your own reenactor email list so the Huntington Beach Historical Society gets the maximum distribution to as many reenactors as possible.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to seeing everyone there for an even bigger and better event.
