MISSION STATEMENT

Company E, 3rd Regiment, Confederate Engineers, is an education oriented, historically accurate reenactment group of the American War between the States period. Our impression is based on the well researched, original Co. E, 3rd Regiment, that provided valuable engineering, and infantry support throughout the Shenandoah Valley of Western Virginia.

Maj. General Jeremy F. Gilmer
Confederate Engineer Bureau Chief

The background for this page is one of the original
Company E rosters for March, 1864.

We portray the lifestyle, drill, and overall bearing of the Confederate Engineer soldier, in late 1863, early 1864.  This portrayal is in a manner consistent with this time period and presented in a way that is informative, educational, and enjoyable to both the participant and the public.

2009 Co. E CHRISTMAS party

We had great weather and enjoyed a sunny afternoon of horseback riding and swapping tall tales of the years reenactments. We had a great catered meal with many deserts to choose from, then awarded the 2009 awards and recognition certificates. After  comprehensive evaluation and testing Co. E  proudly  promoted Brett Gibbons  to the position and rank of 1st Sgt. Brett takes the reins from Brad Blackson who has served two terms as Co. E's 1st Sgt.   Brad raised the bar very high in his handling of the company management, and Brett has accepted the challenge.

The fun afternoon extended into the evening around an open fire in the cool mountain air. With horses and Sgt. Breckenridge's donkey "Earl" watching, we enjoyed the spirit of the season along with a few spirits of our own.
